Apple Carplay requires InControl Pro?

We have a 2018 Evoque SE. I was excited to upgrade to Apple Carplay but was told it wasn't possible with our setup. The dealer said we had to have InControl Pro and apparently we don't?

Sorry for the newb question but I'm having a hard time finding information on our car. It all seems a bit confusing.
