Metal number plates
Had an X5 overtake me today, (shame I know) but as it went past I noticed that it had pressed metal number plates, as they do in some foreign countries.
Does anybody know if these plates are legal, as they looked really good with a 3D effect.

No they are not if it's a UK plate!

They were UK plates, black and yellow on an 09

Pressed plates are legal, you can find them in the VW scene. However they must have the correct reflective coating with the AU marking, show the plate makers name/postcode and obviously be the correct font and spacing.

Ok, yep Seems like you can as long as they are AU 145d rated plates. 3D Characters are acceptable and plenty of sellers claiming road legal.

yep they are legal in uk if set out ti dvla requirements. can be purchased off ebay. they must have the suppliers detail on them.
2013 auto sicillian yellow special edition. with all the goodies supplied with this model.
