Message Screen

In to my first 500 miles in a new 2013 Prestige. On my first trip I set my sat nav up with a destination postcode. Worked fine. Directions even popped up in the message area - the screen in front of the driver with the fuel and temp gauges. On my second trip under sat nav I didn't get the messages in the message area. Any ideas on how to toggle this back on?
