Support of m4a audio

Hi, just wondering if anyone knows whether the Meridian 825w audio system can play m4a audio files? I have a large itunes library, most of which is in m4a format the other mp3. I don't use an iPod and have synced to an android device. I thought i would transfer all the music to USB stick to play in the car but not sure whether m4a files would be supported.

Not 100% sure of the jargon but if it's the same as an mp4 file it should play. All the music I play is Bluetoothed from my iTunes on my iPhone 5. Hope it helps a bit
