Tank Empty Bug

After browsing the List of Suggested Improvements, I noticed that the "Tank Empty Bug" was included.

Please note that this is a fixable hardware fault.

On two occasions I "ran out of fuel" both times with an indicated range of +/- 70 km. The fault, as explained to me, is that because the tank is effectively split in two halves by the propshaft tunnel, an auxiliary pump is used to pump fuel from one side to the other, where the high pressure feed pump is located. The tank has two level sensors and averages the level on both sides for your dash gauge. Thus, if the auxiliary pump is faulty/not working, the high pressure feed pump side is empty and the other side has 7 or 8 litres, the average is reported and hence a usable range (not).

My tip - if this issue applies to you - get the auxiliary pump replaced - worked for me!
