Indicator (turn signal) switch

So, here we go again...
My indicator has suddenly developed a tendency to drop out after being selected. Randomly.
I indicate left or right and either the turn signal comes on in the dash for a few flashes but then goes off, or nothing happens at all. I had a quick look outside during one of these moments and no indicators were flashing.
Can select from one direction to the other but doesn't bring it back to life. It does when it feels like it..
Not good when the car is approaching its 3rd birthday and mot...

Anybody else come across this little issue?

RE: Indicator (turn signal) switch

Does it help if you press on the switch? If not, perhaps just the relay. But it does sound like a contact problem
