I really don't understand the problem! This forum is totally anonymous - no-one knows who anyone else is so what does it matter?

If you insist, then rather put up an anonymous poll with brackets e.g. <50k, 50k to 75k, 75k to 100k etc.

maybe you'll get more people to bite.

I didn't know I could do an anonymous poll - I thought they'd showed everyone's (albeit fictional) names.

Maybe I'm the only one who's interested to know what sort of 'money' buys a £40k car.

That's true, it is. But you don't have the first idea who I am, where I'm from, even whether I'm male or female, which is why I'd happily answer any question you chose to ask me.

Because of the nature of the question, it might be considered too personal a question even in a fairly anonymous environment (although some of us know other members on here), I thought it was either doomed to fail, with loads of nasty comments, or attract a number of humorous replies which is what I preferred.

Berlin's suggestion is quite good.

I guess he wants to boast his earnings. Their is always someone that earns more. Like me!
