Header tank

Hello members, we have an Evoque SD4 Dynamic 2011, the wife came home from work & she asked me to have a look at the header tank because the level warning light had come on, so I let it cool down & went to have a look it was empty to my surprise so I filled it up to the level had a look the next day the colour of the water is a rusty orange as anybody else come across this situation.
