Dealer Build dates and Factory build dates?

Are they the same thing? Do they work off exactly the same system?


Been reading on here and on other forums about peoples cars coming a good bit early and it being a suprise to the dealers.

So if a dealer checks and tells me his build date is this always correct or could the car be in build or going to build early without the dealer being aware?

My dealer pasted me the contents of his order application. I don't think they get an automatic notice when your build date gets moved, but he should be able to tell you if anything has changed when you contact him. I guess they do get a notification just before the order gets finalized, the Last date of order change.
