2013 Pure Plus lighting question

I am looking for some help with my interior lights on a 2013 evoque I just purchased. On my evoque, if it sits for more than 20 mins and I open the door the interior lights will not come on. If I open it a second time the lights will come on. This only occurs when it sits for more than 20 mins as if it has gone into standby mode and the first activity wakes up the computer and second activates the lights. The dealer has told me that this is normal for this year but it doesn't sound right to me. It doesn't make sense that I have to open the door and then close it and open it again to get the interior light to come on.

Have you tried disabling them and then re-enabling them? just touch and hold for 2 secs.

Touch the lens for two seconds to
deactivate/activate automatic illumination.

Yes that was tried with no change. I am just trying to verify if this is the normal condition. Also, when the door is first opened I do hear a clicking noise.

I have a 2013 Prestige and never noticed that. I'll check.

MY12 Coupe Pure "Plus" doesn't do this at all. You are correct "it doesn't make sense"...
