Sorry, Lord Teetree, but you can no longer rely on the serfs to show up and pull you out by the short hairs. Put some gloves on, have a Scotch and give it a try.

Flat tyre!:(

Many thanks to the helpful comments and suggestions but I'm afraid the tyre s irreparable. A screw s gone right through. Shame but never mind.
ChuckieB I think you re right. Does seem to be around the £ 200 mark , fitted.

RE: Flat tyre!:(

Why would a tyre not be repairable because the screw has gone through? - do you have a photo of the damage? If the screw is not near the corners it should be repairable.

Check post No.8 for details of repair limits - looks like you have the 19" wheel.

Thanks WB and Shenley but I think it's too close to the edge. They are 19" wheels. Not measured it but according to the repair guidelines Shenley referred to, looks to me to be less than 34mm from edge. I ll have another garage look at it but think its a goner!:)

Looks too close to the edge for a safe repair.
Mobile tyre fitter such as Event Tyres may well work out cheaper than going to a traditional tyre dealer. I was quoted £190 at a tyre dealers and £146 from Event Tyres, albeit for a 17 inch tyre on a Freelander.

Flat tyre!:(

I thought the continental cross contact tyres I had were cheaper than say Michelin and Pirelli but most places I've checked the reverse is true.

RE: Flat tyre!:(

If your tyre is a Continental, have you tried COSTCO (you or a friend has to be a member) - as this is the only brand they stock and sell, very cheap, but you have to have it fitted at their warehouse.
