Exhaust Manifold Cracks

First post from longtime lurker. I've used this forum and others like it as a resource and thought it was time to give back.

Has anyone experienced a cracked exhaust manifold? I have a 2012 Pure that started leaking exhaust into the cabin. When I took it to the dealer they told me the exhaust manifold cracked and they wanted $5300 to fix it. The car had a little less than 70K miles. I called NA Land Rover for help with warranty coverage, but they denied it.

Went to get the issue fixed outside of the dealership and found OEM Borg Warner turbo/manifolds advertised on the internet, but no one had them in stock. Land Rover is the only supplier and they want $4000. I ended up having a third party remove it and weld it. Total cost ended up to be $1000 ($600 labor, $100 weld, $200 Land Rover diagnostics, and $100 gaskets and fluids).

I attached a pic of where the manifold cracked. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Same deal here....same symptons. LR charged $200.00 for the diagnostics and quoted $4800.00. Who was your third party welder?

The welding was done by a small shop. I can't remember the name.

2016 with 60K mi and now I have that exhaust manifold crack. apparently it's pretty common. Dealer wants $4700 to do the job, but $3200 of that is for the OEM Turbo/manifold part. Found off brand turbo/manifolds for $1300ish.... and then others for $3000. And, I've got a mechanic that will do the install with the part I hand him for $1K. Thinking of ordering that $300 turbo. not sure if it's a good idea tho. anybody try one? https://www.amazon.com/Turbocharger-2017...B08XVYF8SB
