I think the Evoque is LRs answer to citroens DS range. A brand within a brand.

That confirms, longer wheel base, similar departure angle, longer rear doors and longer rear panel, rear wheels moved back into the longer rear panel.

RE: Evoque long wheelbase

Was reading auto express website and the have changed it from Evoque LWB to new Freelander, which I agree with, if we remember the Evoque was disguised as a cut down Freelander.

A few clues are the larger front (air vent above the number plate) the bodywork around the rear wheels don't fit, if the car is due next year (more like another yesr away) it should be at the same stage as the Sport, ie final testing. Also the Freelander will be 7 year old next year well due for a new model. The mirrors don't contain the indicators Sport and FFRR do no reason to drop them on one Evoque and not the other.

Just a theory which I happen to agree with.

Personally I think that it's the right move and a great idea. The boot of the current evoque is next to useless. If none of the other features are compromised it would be my next trade-in car.

A seven see freelander could be a big seller, current model still selling well late into its product cycle.
