Evoque 2020 Sat Nav

Hi. I am finding they my nav takes ages before it’s ready for instructions. I have the very latest maps installed and my software has done over the air updates. My orevious BMW was almost instantly available. Is this normal?
Also is there a way to accept or reject faster routes when the sat nav is operating. Mine seems to automatically select the alternative mid route which isn’t always appropriate
