Big foot modifications

I have slightly larger than normal sized feet. I imagine anyone with seriously big feet is experiencing difficulties with the room available for feet, inside the Evoque.

The unused foot on the driver's side, rests on a foot-rest that can only acomodate a normal sized foot. The plastic kick-plate on the passenger side (which protects fuses), prevents large feet from fitting upon the surface that is directly below the kick-plate.

Has anyone tried modifying the foot rest or the kick-plate to fit big feet?
