Car insurance - mental
Well before my scirocco died i was quoted £60 to put it on a multicar policy with my partners car from now til mid jan. Fair enough i thought.
So the mrs rang up today to tell them the scirocco has been replaced by a 1.8 x reg ford modeo, the result the price is now £70.
So its more expesive to insure a 10yr old 1.8 115hp family hatch worth maybe £600 than it is to insure a 2009 160hp coupe worth maybe £15k. This is bloody mad!
Paid it still anyway as the jan expiry date may coicide with my new cars arrival. How can this be justified? bloody crazy state of affairs.

Because it isn't just to do with how much your car is worth. But how much damage you will cause if/when you crash. An old mondeo must have a higher "tank-like" rating.
