It will be interesting to see where they go from here. I can imagine there's a small number of production slots kept back for supply issues like this, so it would surprise me if you went right to the back of the queue.
Since they have your money, they should at least put you in something in the meantime even if they want the current car back now. I expect they will rework the paint properly and resell as a low mileage secondhand car, certain to be an easy sale to someone looking to avoid the lead time.
Question for you though is whether you are minded to change the specification in the light of having had the car for a few weeks - doesn't sound like you'll be wanting the "posh" carpet mats!
Apparently the next order call is at the end of this week and he says my new order will go in then, he hasn't indicated build dates yet. Not sure if I have jumped the queue or not.
On my e-mail I put that I assumed I could keep the current car until the new one arrives and they haven't said I can't so far, but I would understand them wanting it back now because it would depreciate more the longer I keep it, and I won't argue with that. I'm sure they will give me a car of some description on loan, but I am not too worried about a loan car because I have 3 of my dad's cars here I can use as he lives in Dubai in the winter!
As for changing spec............ forget the posh mats...........the only things I had wished I had added first time round was electric folding mirrors & spare wheel, maybe I an add them.

I don't think they will return the car to the factory, they will get it done at their bodyshop at another branch because that is where they were going to re-spray it under warranty. I still don't believe it came out of the factory like this. It has definitely been bodged after production and I think they know that. The week I picked the car up I saw a white Evoque partly covered in brown paper at the back of the dealership compound and I joked to my family that I hope that isn't my car! Maybe I was right, but when I mentioned this to my dealer what I had seen they didn't know what I was talking about!!!!!!!
Oh well I don't care now I'm getting a new one.
