RE: Audio

I ordered an Evoque Pure and cannot upgrade the sound-system, but I am curious about the difference between the ordinary Meridian system and the big one. Does anyone have information whether both systems use the same subwoofer? This week I had the chance to listen to the huge system for some minutes and I had a good impression.
My audio at home is very British: Audiolab CD-player and pre-amp, Spendor 75 A speakers and Thorens turntable.

I have just sold my FL2 with the Alpine system. Please do not take this advice the wrong way and I know this sounds really obvious, but you need to change it from the default "3 channel stereo" to "DPI II" (press the tone button and rotate the volume dial to toggle between settings, you then get to adjust the output of the surround and the centre speakers. All my settings were on max (including bass and treble) and that was enough to make your teeth rattle with the bass. Do make sure the subwoofer speaker doesn''t have any rubbish in it (i always hoovered mine when hoovering the boot) as this badly affects the sound. Maybe you need to get the dealers to check it is working properly as the sytem sounded better than my neighbours A6 Avant with Bose! ShockedShockedShocked
