Mine has the 19" Continental ones. I did 42.000km with the front set. At the moment I'm at 70.000km and the original set at the back still has 5mm left. I do check regularly if the tension is still ok...

I think you are probably just unlucky with yours. There have been gear box issues with cars, but from what I have seen, only minor ones. Having said that, mine is from 2012 and I still have the old 6 ...

Net mijn eerste onderhoud gehad, 22.000km op de teller. Het heeft me 332 euro gekost, 2 uur werk was 130 euro. Net geen 100 euro aan olie. De rest was btw en wat filters.
