Hi Barney,
Thanks for that feedback...has the lag improved on yours too? If so, it sounds like the Q585.

To be honest I haven't noticed, probably because I drive around the issue. I will pay more attention on the way home tonight for you

So i picked up my car and asked to speak with the head technician about the Q585 update. He said he checked but it was not yet available to them. He said it might be that this will eventually come through, as there is sometimes delays between when the UK has them and when it comes to Australia.
He also said there appears to be some downloads currently coming through to them, and if the Q585 is one of them they would let me know.

I can only hope.

Mmm, ok thanks Barneyridge. Not sure specialists have access to all the updates dealers do, so not sure if you had this specific one done or not.
I'll keep you posted if it finally comes my way just the same. Thx again for your feedback.

6-spd lag - Ghotson - 16-11-2016 11:38am

I'm in Melbourne and had the update completed by my LR dealer on my late 2013 SD4 in July this year. (I specifically requested the update and had the Topix bulletin with me).

I agree with everyone else here - makes a makes a massive difference, especially accelerating from standstill with much less lag - but a bit less noticeable lag improvement when off boost say coming into and then accelerating out of a roundabout.

No difference in fuel economy at all that I've logged (still disappointing).

Hi ghotson, thats very interesting to me thank you. Did topix show any campaigns for your car at this time, including Q585?
Their telling me because its showing no campaigns for my car on topix, then its not available.
With you being in Australia proves something to me here, and any more info regarding what you saw on topix will be much appreciated. Thanks again

To be honest, I don't recall if it came up with a service action on Topix or not - but don't think so.

I had a couple of other Topix service bulletins with me at the same time... I've got a front end steering / suspension 'clunk' - and they were happy to explain to me how the bulletins were different and why those weren't the problem I was experiencing ... but Topix engine management update, no problem! Noticeably different to drive after I picked it up as well, so no question they did it.

Can't find the paperwork from July at the moment but it was written on the docket that the update was completed.

Car goes in for its 3rd year service next Tuesday - can probably get a copy of the docket then if it helps.

Fantastic dealer service overall.

The docket copy would be a great help Ghotson...then i could properly prove to this dealer its available in Australia, and also prove to this other guy at the desk who jumped into the conversation how wrong he is. First he was doing his best to keep me away from talking to the head technician, then he was saying with a cock sure attitude how the UK cars are completely different in emission standards to Australia, therefor this particular update did not comply to Australian cars....he was very arrogant in attitude, and unhelpful.
Now, i would not only love to get this update, but to prove him wrong too.

I look forward to what you can come up with, and it will be most appreciated. Many thanks in Advance.
