Engine/transmission light - Tcousins - 24-11-2015 03:29am

My "engine/transmission" light just came on and stayed on today. I looked it up in the manual and it said something about a problem with emissions? Also, that the car could go into limp mode. Is this something I need to take care of ASAP or can it wait at all? The closest Land Rover service center in an hour and a half away. Anyone else have this happen? The car seems to be driving normally so far.

In Europe we might put that down to the DPF filter and go out for a longish drive to clear the fault but as you guys don't have diesel engines, I'd be phoning the service centre and asking them.

Well, whatever it was, it seems to have resolved (I hope). The light did not come on today. Has anyone else had this happen?

I had a transmission error come on when I first got my Evo. It started to shift weird and then the light came on. I pulled over and turned it off and on and, while the light was still on, it drove normally. They replaced my transmission.

Error was "Two wheel drive only. Traction reduced".

If the engine/ transmission light is now off, would they be able to tell with their computer what the fault was that made it come on before?

Error's should be logged in the ECU so Yes, but it depends on the nature of the fault.
