Interesting... Does this mean our 6 speed auto resale value will go down even further?

One more reason to choose a manual gear in your RRE order......at the moment.
Imho.

Has been known to be in the pipe line for some time, i used this fact in my negotiation for taking delivery of a new Evoque for March registration, ie its going to be the old model and i want compensating for this, so £2500 discount helped me sign on the dotted line.

"Land Rover Australia’s James Scrimshaw confirmed the nine-speed auto would supersede the six-speed in all petrol- and diesel-powered Evoque models from January 2014, a few months after it launches in the UK and other European markets. The six-speed manual will continue to be offered as an option."

If I read this correctly - 6 speed will still be an OPTION. Meaning paying extra like other options. Hahaha.

Not going to see it in production until 2014 MY so looking at September 2013 at the earliest in UK and probably January 2014 in the Rest of the World.
Believe there may also be some other changes in the pipeline for 2014MY to help fuel consumption figures.

It's fine to be an early adopter when the innovation is in a stunning appearance but mechanicals I'd give a year for others to discover the flaws. I don't mind having mine delivered next week, time will tell if I upgrade.

85% of buyers are standard punters who just like the look of it, doubt they'll even know or care if its old or new auto- the used salesman is unlikely to volunteer it. Can't honestly see the resale values going over a cliff edge.

I compared it to my 6-speed auto and looks like a 500 rpm lower than my current 6-speed. I am good with my 6-speed if it is only 500 rpm better. I attached the photo to compare with that articles picture of the 9-speed. ZF transmission is nice not doesnt warrant a new model for me.
