Any idea how long they'll be there for?

RE: Evoque Westfield Bondi Junction - Barneyridge - 18-08-2011 03:17am

I went there last Friday during the day. The car come from the Alto dealership. The Evoque 5 door is the Fjij white with Almond interior and panoramic roof. Is also has the optional 19 in wheels. The coupe is a red dynamic and interestingly it is left hand drive.

This was the first time I have seen one in the flesh and must admit I was impressed. The fit and finish was very good. I do think the rear bench seat did look a little cheap, the cushion was very thin. It look a bit flimsy/cheap. I am just over 6 foot tall, and with the drivers seat in a comfortable potion for me, I could sit in the back, albeit it was tight. The rear seating is tight, but not a concern for me as it is only my wife and I.

I currently have a Subaru Forester XT Premium (2009), and I did notice a difference in the size. Again it is smaller on the outside and inside to the Forester but for me it will be fine. The boot was small but again fine for me. One thing I did not do was check folding the seats (not sure if they do fold or not).

There were a lot of people around and the usual annoying kids jumping on the seats and pressing everything. The two salesmen there were not impressed but did not say anything. I was a little concerned that the look of the evoque was going to be a little too girly, say a chicks car. But my wife say when I was sitting in the car it looked fine. She loves the look of the car and wants it in our garage tomorrow.

I did not spend much time in the coupe because we are intending to purchase the 5 door so can not really comment on it.

To answer the last post, I am not sure how long they will be there.

Thanks for the review. Were both cars left hand drive?
Did you happen to take any pic?

I am particularly interested in viewing the Almond interior as that is what I have ordered and unfortunately there isn't many pics of them on the net.

I will give the dealer a call to see how long they're going to be in Sydney for.

Cheers,
PK

The 5 door was right hand drive.

Unfortunately I did not take any pics. Thought about driving home which was too late.

Just spoke to the dealer and they're now in QLD. Apparently they'd be back in NSW in Oct.

Being in Perth, we'll probably get a look in 2021, being 10 years behind the rest of Australia..

Did the 3-Door have the Panoramic Roof?

Not sure about the coupe, but the 5 door did.
