Union Jack Tread Plates - J77 - 03-10-2012 07:55pm

Ok so not to everyones taste, but I ordered the union jack tread plates about 2 months ago and they finally arrived on Monday as they were on back order. Having never seen a picture of them I wasn't sure what to expect, in fact my dealer hadn't even seen them. Went ahead and fitted them tonight and in my opinion, think they look good.

Here's the finished article, not the greatest photo as it was dark and had to light up car with LED torch ( I must change the interior lights to LEDs)

Better than looking at a load of scuffing on the sill.

Here is a better photo, any ideas on how to easily remove that sticky mess that was left behind when the dealer removed all the plastic stuff at PDI.

Didn't have it on mine when I got it and I'm very surprised that the dealer let it get to you like that.

Get hold of a hairdryer and warm up the sticky bits then use some dental floss or fine gauge fishing line to scrape it off. Other thing to use is some white spirits

To be fair to my dealer it wasn't noticeable when I collected the car, it's just through time dust has started to stick to it and has become noticeable, the rest of the car is fine.

Spray the sticky bit with wd40 & leave to soak in then wash with warm soapy water.

They look cool, do they do some for the rear scuff plates as well? I have illuminated front plates but nothing to finish the rear plastic ones ,does anyone have any other alternative ?
Gav.

Thanks, I'm impressed with them, the first time I saw them was the day I picked them up. Still nothing officially from LR though.
