Brits cars are just piece of crap. Hope you bought extended warranty as well !

Good luck !

I would rather push a Land Rover than drive a Jeep.

Well, took my RRE on a 760-mile (round-trip) ride to visit far away family and on the third day while visiting the Engine Warning light came on AGAIN. Hadn't seen it for a few months (see previous postings), but there it was again, staring me right in the face. (Last June LR had to fly in an "expert tech" to try and figure out why the engine kept having all these malfunctions. It took him a month to figure it out, come up with a fix, and get me back my car.) To say I couldn't believe that I was here again is an understatement.

I'd noticed just prior to the latest yellow warning that when stopped at red lights, the engine idle seemed at times to kind of skip a beat; and when switching to dynamic and/or sport mode, the engine felt somewhat choppy when switching gears.

Needless to say, I left an angry but contained voicemail for the GM at the dealership where I bought it, and had it in for service 4-times for the same problem since first driving off the lot with it, telling him I'd absolutely had it and that I either wanted a new car or my money back.

Expecting the worst, or in the very least a fight from the dealership, the GM called me yesterday to say that he'd located a brand new, exact model and color combo of my RRE with upgraded 20" style-6 wheels and tires, and was working on getting it delivered to the dealership so that I could exchange it for the lemon that is my Evoque.

So it's bittersweet. Sweet that I'm getting a brand new RRE replacement, especially considering mine has a little over 15,000-miles on it. Bitter that I had to experience firsthand what I'd read of LR's somewhat hit-and-miss reliability. But I must say, big thumbs-up for how LR and my dealership has handled the situation. That makes up for all the inconvenience, frustration, and trouble. Unless, of course, Evoque #2 gives a repeat performance. Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed!

Sorry to hear that Neo. Get it to your dealer asap.

Damn it's a bloody w/end so they don't work. Will have to wait until Monday!

Is it safe to drive the car in this state or best to get it towed?

Best to call Land Rover road-side assistance and ask what to do. I wouldn't drive the car it till speaking to road-side assistance.
Did the issue happen on the freeway or during wet weather?

Grapevine information we've heard is (1) it looks like an intercooler condensation issue that can let moisture get into the engine and foul firing, (2) there's a software update out now that reduces the chance of the reduced performance mode and increases engine performance as a side-benefit, and (3) there may be an official fix possibly in another 3 months or so. Rumors are mostly fun when they're about someone else but since we all have Evoques these rumors are about those of us with the gas engine.

But you have an SD4 engine?
