Snow Chains - crimson_flames - 28-06-2012 09:38am

I'm planning to go to the snow next month and wanted to know if anyone has purchased or hired a set in melbourne? i've got the 20" style 6 rims.

Cheers

I am pretty sure you need specialised low clearance chains, eg like Thule make. You can't use normal chains without risking damage.

I don't know if anyone in Vic hires them, so it may depend on whether you are willing to buy. Google Thule k-summit chains to see what I am on about.

Hi Titan,

Thanks for the reply. I also looked at spikes spider, which is what LR sells, but just wondering if i can hire them as i rarely go to the snow and can't justify paying $500+ on chains just to use once a year even if that.

I have the thule k summits but I do multiple trips each year

Try these guys snowchains.com.au
