Tax disc question - Daglass - 14-05-2012 11:19pm

Finally got my tax disc today almost a month after I picked the car up.

Just wondering how do I stand here-tax disc expires on 31.03.13 but my car didn't arrive with the dealer until 13.04.12 and I picked it up on 18.04.12, is that technically 12 months tax?

He's hasn't chosen to pay out he extra few quid to give you A 12 month + 2 week licence but all in all you are losing about a tenner or so as you the second year licence fee on an sd4 is currently £130 and you are having to buy it one month earlier.

Yeah it's not really the value of it more the principle I suppose.

Same with mine I picked up in the middle of the month and lost out. Soon forgot about it though.

so like me you got robbed of a months tax by a laxy/tight dealer. I picked up my car on 30th of the month but the dealer didnt bother to pay for the couple of extra days so i had a full 12 months. I got 11 months and 1 day.

It cost me the price of a months tax (approx£10.80) but would have cost them pennies and would have looked a lot better!

I pointed it out but didnt make an issue out of it, i still think it was poor form from the stealer though!

For me its just another chapter in the book about a very disinterested and quite useless salesman.
If it wasn't for the fact that I wanted an Evoque and the next nearest dealership is a 100 mile round trip I would have walked away from it all months ago.
However, the car is here and it is a great piece of kit but LR really do need to work on their pre, during and post customer care.

Well it has to be said my dealer gave us 12 months plus 1 week.

Which was very good as our car was in their pound for two weeks waiting for us to come back off of holiday, so we could take delivery when we got back.

Well done Stratstone.
