Pure Grained Leather - anyone seen it? - WB - 06-07-2011 02:25pm

Does anyone have any information or even seen the upgraded "Grained" leather that is part of the PURE Style pack?

Thanks
WB

Thanks, can you elaborate please? Is it closer to the Prestige or Dynamic leather or completely different?

Appreciate your thoughts.

Im also interested to know. To date, there have been no specific details or comparison photos....

I vaguely remember someone saying that it was slightly nicer than their 3-series leather. But I may be making that up.

I was particulary interested in the leather difference between the models. The pure grained leather was fine, in fact it's identical to the leather grain in my ford Kuga.

The leather was not as soft as the prestige or dynamic plus, however it was only slightly noticeable when sitting in the seat as opposed to running your hands across the material. The pure grained was just slightly more coarse.

In terms of quality I only think it's more noticeable when comparing the leather finish between the models side by side (ie: like at a showroom), where as if in it's own I do not think you could notice to much - unless you are familiar with your leathers.

I would imagine the pure grained leather would be more forgiving to marks or scuffs than say the softer leather on the Prestige or Dynamic Plus.

Grained leather = old cow
Prestige leather = young cow

Just to revive this thread - I've been looking at the Style Pack on the PURE and it basically includes 4 items for £1750.

Electric Seats & Mirrors - £900
19" Style 4 Wheels - £450
Fog lights - £205
PURE Grained Leather - £not available separtely.

The 3 available options would cost £1555 if ordered separately so there is a £195 for the Pure Grained leather - has anyone been able to find out any more details on the leather?

Thanks!

Isn't grained leather standard on the Pure model anyway? Are they listing it as a feature of the option which is standard anyway? Neutral

My current 5 series has BMW's basic leather and it is heavily grained and quite rough to the touch (after 5 years from new it has proved very durable though). Is the Evoque grained leather similar, whilst the prestige model has a nice 'smooth' leather (which I prefer the look of but am struggling to justify the cost)?

Some people view the soft leather (ie the 'better' young cow stuff) as possibly not being quite so hard wearing as the std leather (ie the 'poorer relative' old cow stuff). Again, we r buying a prestige mark so I'm sure it's all gonna be great.
