Follow me home lights thingy - Ranger4 - 27-02-2012 10:48pm

Just going through all the pre-flight checks on my car today and was trying to work out how to engage the rear reversing lights as a "follow-me-home" thingy - if that's the correct term.

Now I've either dreamt this or I've read this before in this forum, but can you actually activate the rear reversing lights from your key fob, to help you walk to your front door whilst it's dark?

I know that the front lights can be set up for a predetermined amout of time in the computer setup, but what about the rear ones?

Any help, much appreciated.....

On the fob - one press of the lamp bitton for fronts, second press for rears as well and third press for off.

Excellent, thanks ChuckieB.... I think I need to get my hands on that manual!

I'll be driving into your county on Thursday, so I'll give you a flash as I go by!

Of course, if you're running keyless entry then there'd be no reason for you to ever look at the key! Laughing

I am quite sure that on the first press it operates the front lights, if you press a second time it turns off the front and activates the rear. I am sure you cannot have both front and rear lights on together

Unfortunately, in the USA we get
1 fronts
2 off

My 2005 LR3 had the 1/2/3 configuration. Not sure why they changed it here on the RRE. May see if the dealer can modify the configuration, but not sure how saavy they are yet with the RRE setup.

I doubt that a dealer would be able to change this as this is controlled by the CJB in the car, my guess is new load of software and it is probably possible but unless there is a major flaw or fault with it i do not think that this will be changed

You are probably right, but I will ask at the first service visit.
