I always try and find a bay at the end of a row or that has a yellow lined area so I have a bit more space!

I believe they are (not 100% sure) the widths of the body excluding the mirrors,as is the usual practice. I found them all listed on a specification website. You are right in the Evoque width including mirrors at 2125mm.

The Evoque is very unusual, in that it has the width to compare with some of the largest, most exotic automobiles in the world, yet it's length is only slightly longer then a VW Golf, and thats goes along way to giving it such a meaty proportion and stance.
It might make parking in tight places a bit more difficult, but i love how the designers were gutsy in their criteria, and went to the extremes of minimum length, and maximum width, in a practical package.

I think that the stated width of 1965mm is with mirrors folded. But because the mirror don't fold very well, this might be a bit misleading.

RE: Parking Width - ChuckieB - 21-01-2012 02:42pm

2125 without......
1965 with.....

It's in the brochure I have

RE: Parking Width - alanet - 21-01-2012 03:04pm

Yes, I know. Where I wasn't sure was if the 1965 measurement was with mirrors folded or without mirrors. As the mirrors don't fold much, the car would be quite a bit under the 1965mm mesurement if they folded in more...

The important width (in my eyes) is the width of the body between the doors, so that you can still get in and out when parked in a normal parking bay.

One way or the other, it's still pretty wide.

RE: Parking Width - benzina - 21-01-2012 03:12pm

Not sure with the Evoque, but usually, the width for most cars officially listed specifications,is taken at the widest point of the body, excluding mirrors entirely.

Exactly, but on the Evoque spec sheet, it says width with mirrors folded. And they protrude quite a bit, don't they?
