soft roof pads in place of bars - RogB - 24-07-2018 09:58am

I have a 2 door Evoque, and its obviously very limited on the options for carrying things on the roof unless I retro fit roof rails and cross bars. This is something I will address as time and funds allow.

as a temporary measure, just for carrying 3 shorty wave boards to cornwall and back, would the soft roof pads work? (similar to the below link)

TIA

Thule do an adapter (short roof adapter 774) to make their normal roof bars fit the 3 door car. Whilst I've got a 5 door car I find the Thule roof bars/rack excellent so don't doubt Thule bars like mine with the short roof adapter would be fine.

cheers MrNoo

ive seen the Thule bars and adaptor, but ive currently got some Nordrive bars which work on the same method as Thule i.e bars, feet, and footpack separate. and I'm trying to find out if they do a short roof adaptor system like Thule.
Nordrive are good bars and I'd like to keep hold of them and just get the short roof adaptors. Sadly none of the manufacturers packs are interchangeable.
it will be cheaper to get a set of after market roof rails and buy some new cross bars than getting all new Thule gear.
im just looking for a short term solution to carrying the body boards that doesn't cost the earth, until I can work out the best bars option for me
