RE: ECO Start/ Stop - Koidream - 14-04-2017 05:29pm

Today the RRE went in for maintenance.
For the ECO Start/ stop problem the dealer:
- did a software update
- replaced the battery (under warranty)

On the way home, Start/ stop worked fine.
The total costs for the 24 month maintenance was € 532

Denso had a BMW start stop on test for 3 years. Never missed a beat in the whole time they were testing it. And this was the early days.

My 2014 evoque is the same. When I first got her, she worked perfectly. Now the start stop very very rarely works. I had it looked at under warranty but all they did was charge the battery. It worked great for 3 days then stopped again altogether. Now it's a rare occasion for her to switch off. I have her booked in next month for them to look it over again as my warranty is nearly over...

It drives me crazy always cuts out at junctions and the likes, don't suppose anyone knows how to permanently disable it?

Disconnecting the small battery is one way. I've read people have done this and it doesn't affect any other function.its also possible to remove one of the plugs from a ECU but I've no idea which one on the RRE controls the stop/start.

Is it start/stop or stop/start Very Happy

Put it into dynamic mode. That turns it off.
