Check your vin on topix

It will advice if there are any outstanding recalls

Mine came up with

P033v2 - Fuel Leak - Spill Rail Connector DW12C...

Ring your dealer book it in. Job done

(No change for courtesy car from Guy Salmon) they were not aware the public had access to topix!

Or alternatively ring your dealer quote your registration number and they can check for you.

I allways thought it was up to the manufacturer or dealer to contact the customer?

If it catches fire & burns up then they owe me a new car lol.

I think these days you can take a bit of responsibility to check yourself. Wouldn't want my family to go up in s ball of flames just because I could be arsed to check.

As far as I can tell from some quick research on the 'net, it's part of the diesel injection system that returns unused fuel to the tank.

Modern common rail diesel injection systems run at a very high pressure that has to be maintained between tight limits. To do this they use a circulation system of a high pressure pump, a common "rail" which all the injectors are connected to and valves to regulate the pressure. Fuel that's not used by the engine ends up in the spill rail and is returned to the tank. It's this "spill rail" that has been found to develop leaks.

Mine's booked in on Thursday for the recall. The dealer was unaware of the problem until they checked Topix Sad

Apologies for the repeated post.

Spoke to my local dealer on monday, they had just been told the previous Friday and JLR will be writing to everyone affected.. letters will start to go out in 2-3 weeks he said. The dealer was going to get ahead of the game a bit and check cars as they came in for anything else, altough he told me that not all engines will need the O ring replaced and JLR would only let them have 2 spare parts at any one time!! Also applies to all these 2.2 diesel engines used in Jags and Peugeots....

Mine was checked today no problem found. So no work was required.

Same as mine although it took them around an hour to check it. According to my local dealer they were only informed about this themselves last Friday and has it hasn't gone public yet have been quite surprised as to how many people already know about the recall and I was asked how I had found out about it!!
