xenon hid 6000k

Mine came built-in with the dynamic version and they are yellow.. I guessed that they are the 4000k and and i have a spare pair of 6000k and so i wonder if i can replace them without any additional costs. Has anyone actually tried this? Are you sure that i do not need to replace the ballast? Thanks..

RE: xenon hid 6000k

all car manufacturers use 4300K as standard bulbs for xenons - obtained from osram (from what I understand), not just LR.

However all 6000K bulbs are aftermarket. Osram does not have any aftermarket 6000K (they don't manufacture 6000K) so if you are going to look anywhere for them, be warned that anything that says Osram and 6000K is fake - and usually made in china and may blow your electrics.

also make sure that the 6000K that you do have will fit the evoque - from what I remember/read somewhere they use D3 xenon bulbs.

I believe someone on the forum was going to replace them - not sure if they did. I was quite close to replacing them but I didn't see the need to. It doesn't improve the range of brightness or anything in fact apparently you lose some light when going from 4300K to 6000K so I've just left it.

Contrast black roof (to be painted soon). (Previously a Firenze Pure owner - still my favourite colour Wink)

Thanks chiggy.. I agree about the visibility but it doesnt look so good with the surrounding bright white led's
