Dashcam

I've just collected my 2014 Evoque Dynamic today. So impressed to say the least. I'm just transferring the bits and bobs I had in my Discovery 4 which included a dashcam. Does anyone have any good ideas as to where I should position it and more importantly where to I run the cable to the socket.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

RE: Dashcam

I'm looking to install a dashcam to my evoque as well. Is it possible to connect the power source to a connection in the mirror? When I had my windscreen replaced, there was a bunch of wires in there. Surely you could get a switched feed off one of the wires? Anyone had a look yet?

I remember the guy said DO NOT unplug the connector as it will reset some stuff but I can't remember what exactly. Any one want to try?

RE: Dashcam

Position behind or alongside mirror, Its reasonably easy to push wires behind headlining without removal, the trim on the windscreen pillar unclips and you can run cable behind here on passenger side into glove box where you can find electrical fuse box.

Good luck.

RE: Dashcam

1. I've put my dashcam (a118c/B40) on the passenger side, on the back of the mirror.
2. I used a 12v to 5v USB adapter from eBay (1$), with an L shaped connector.

See if you have a mini or micro USB port dashcam.
