No, it's an F355 - this service included fixing the buttress stress fracture problem, a leaking aircon compressor, new spark plugs, etc. It needs new belts next year Crying Driving well though...

I must confess that I am not too sure about brake pads and the like although with my previous vehicles that was covered. Even bulbs and wiper blades were replaced ''for free''.

I assume the RRE is quite expensive in RSA, so perhaps they bundle in servicing to make it more attractive. Tyres on this beast are expensive - I narrowly escaped having to buy one after a puncture - but even if you have insurance, I don't expect that will cover normal wear and tear.

It would be interesting to know from those with 16k miles on their cars already how well their tyres are doing.

Evoque was great, now in an RRS SVR

100% correct Mark. We don't have the Pure model nor the possibility to purchase manual transmission (I think - I have no problems with being corrected). All the vehicles are highly specced with options like AD, upgraded Meridian etc. Standard are the rear view camera, front sensors and the like which I see are extras for other markets. Basically that meant that for the ''base'' price I paid I got a helluva lot of car Smile

Please don't think that because you're paying £150 per hour that it guarantees you an experienced mechanic is working on and looking after your car. I've had some terrible experiences with BMW main dealers and would never use them again... I'm referring to Specialists who are usually ex-dealership staff who set up on their own and thrive on their reputation rather than independent garages who are generalist mechanics.

So far my experience with Lookers Park Royal dealing with my warranty issues has been very good and I will use them for servicing as long as their prices are reasonable (that's if I don't sell the car before it's due a service).

WB, I agree £150/hour does not guaratee quality, when I refer to independent garages it is independent of any makers francise. To the best of my knowledge there is only one independent LR garage nearer to me than the main dealer and they only service farmers and forestery commission Defenders.

My nearest garage is 10 miles away and they freely admit they do not have the knowledge or equipment to service my neighbours FL1. What chance an Evoque!

Evoque Dynamic SD4 Lux Auto Total Rubbish, worst car I have owned - GONE AT LAST!

Yep my old £80 per hour BMW Dealer mechanic failed to fit a set of brake pads in a BMW Mini correctly causing them to be locked on, worse failed to diagnose the simple problem when we returned it, just lubricating the handbrake... and I ended up refitting them myself correctly and not trapping the anti-squeal shims such that they forced the pads hard against the discs.
