Wanting to join the club

Hi all,

I am new to the forum, I am looking at purchasing an evoque in the near future. I have been looking for a while and am interested in the Si4 with upgraded red bucket seats but can only find them in the 3 door coupe. Does anyone know if they made them in the 5 door?
Also what common problems should I look out for when viewing these cars?

Thanks

Harry

im sure you will find an evoque with the spec you want. problem is you will no doubt have to travel a distance for one. I had to go to Cardiff for mine. Cool

The red bucket seats ( also available in Ebony or tan) were the “Plus” Pack so you need to look for a Dynamic Lux Plus model and they are very rare because not many people were prepared to pay £3000 extra for two nice and very comfortable Recaro front seats and a full leather das topper. Both my Evoques had “Plus” pack - one in Ebony the other in Tan - I might even have had the only Tan Plus Seats ever made they were so popular! Also the Si4 was not known for either being particularly fast or economical andcaren’t very common in the UK

Thanks guys,
Is there much difference between the petrol and Diesel engines as I'm still unsure what to go for ? I like the petrol because with a good exhaust they sound pretty nice and have more bhp. I curruntly have a deisel car but with all the problems surrounding them at the minute with the government trying to phase them out and the prices of diesel go up and mots being stricter with the blanking of erg valves and removal of the PDF is swaying me more to the petrol. Do the SD4's suffer from any dpf or other deisel related issues ?

Original Ford Diesel is pretty solid upto 2015 models. The DPF pressure sensor can fail, but not the end of the world to get that fixed, EGR valve can get clogged... as in any diesel, but not been too many people suffering.

Isn't the original Diesel a Peugeot derived engine...cause i think it is. Its the original petrol thats a Ford.
I love my SD4 Diesel...lots of low end torque, and reliable, and no DPF issues either. Peugeot have always made good diesels, and one of the reasons i went for it.
Peugeot has a long established history with Diesel. Peugeot were the first company to commercialise diesels from way back in 1928, and first to install a Turbo-Diesel in a car, the Peugeot 604 in 1979.

I thought it was a Ford/PSA engine in the diesels and a Ford 2.0 Turbo petrol in the Si4

Yes PSA is Peugeot, but the variant was Engineered by Ford in conjunction with PSA, its the same base engine as in some Peugeots with different turbocharging arrangements, and GM owned a part of PSA at the time so hard to actually distinguish what it is really, but it was developed for the Mondeo and uses the Ford Variant. Infact it may also be the only non Ford product to have the 180hp version too.

Called the DW12 engine first designed & developed by PSA making its debut in 2000 for some of its Peugeot and citroens. And as mentioned by PhilSkill, further developed by PSA/Ford from 2006.
Heres the link to info on it's PSA origin...... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSA_EW/DW_engine#DW12
