Main Road still busy when I arrived home, but was certainly clearing, can be a real pain when MWay shut. Heard Banbury centre was clogged up all day.

RE: Wading/Fording Experience

I wonder how hard is it to fit a new V8 petrol into a current Defender. Even the series iia are expensive. I would to find out how much it is to import one and retro fit a V8

RE: Wading/Fording Experience

It has been done to a "puma" Defender quite recently, both TDV6 and TDv8 conversions are possible if you have enough money! For a Series Land Rover even easier as they all were available with the good old Buick V8 as used by LR and Rover for many years, same engine was used also in Disco1 and should be a straight swap! Your problem with the Defenders built since 1977 is Federal Safety Regs requiring airbags so unless you have the equivalent of our personal importation rules then a more modern Defender Land Rover might not be possible to import. The s a specialist in Yorkshire - Huddersfield, I think, who will rebuild you a Series Land Rover especially to your requirements from an existing vehicle/wreck especially for import to the USA. I do know of people who have taken TDi200 and TDi300 Defenders into the US on a personal import basis but they ave been right hand drive UK vehicles, I also know a group of ex US military guys in Norfolk Va who have about 40 Defenders between them all left hand drive cars personally imported as service men's cars when they were serving in Germany, mostly diesels

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

Good stuff.

The one thing they teach you when on the LRE experience, is that a lot of people get caught out when then fail to take into account the speed of the current.
