Here in Belgium one dealer offered me 4%, the other one 5%, but I'm lucky enough to be able to buy through the diplomatic sales channel, which gives me 15% on the base price without options. Even with the discount, the car is still cheaper in the UK.

RE: Vehicle discounting

My husband is in the forces (he is in Afghanistan now and hasn't even seen the car!)

We got 7% off base price and either 7% or 4% off options before VAT. Also got a delivery pack thrown in which included Plates, Full Tank of Fuel, Rubber Mats, Bulb Set, Warning Triangle, First Aid Kit. I also think the deanships that handle military sale have large order pools as I didn't wait that long.

One of the few perks of being in the military Smile

Ordered June 11, Built - 24th November - Delivered - 7th Dec - NO DELAYS

Fuji White SD4 Dynamic, Auto, 5 Door, Black contrast roof with Panoramic Sunroof, Vortex Interior, Shadow Alloys, Ebony Roof Liner, Surround Cameras, TPMS Very Happy

No its just Armed Forces and the do lots of checks to ensure you are eligible. Not sure if they have similar schemes for Police.

In fairness LR can't tell dealers not to discount as it is not in the consumers interests, and to be perfectlt honest they don't. The market will decide when the time is right for discounting not the network, starting with the major leasing companies. It wasn't until over two years after RR Sport was launched that we started offering discounts/incentives, and to start with they were very much a token gesture.

It is a great car with very strong residual values, so hopefully a cheaper car to run over say 36 months than many cheaper less desirable vehicles?

RE: Vehicle discounting

I was told that my local dealer has been offering 5% by another dealer, not sure if i believe it. Will have to ask but they will just lie?

I'm unsure as to why any retailer of any goods would point you in the direction of a competitor, telling you that you can buy from them for far less..... Not a scenario I've ever come across before.

Makes no sense at all, regardless of what you are selling. I need to insure my Defender this week, therefore I'll try asking Direct Line if they can tell me who the cheapest insurance company is.... Perhaps they'll suggest Churchill? Smile Smile
