Top Up Oil - Australian Specific Discussion

I understand there is already a thread with regards to purchasing some oil to top up, but I emailed Landrover Australia as I wanted to purchase some oil for top up purposes in between service.

Interesting head office did not know anything and advise me to email the dealer. Below is the response from the dealer.

"To confirm the info you have been given, the correct oil spec required for your car cannot be purchased any where other than a Land Rover dealer. Unfortunately Land Rover don’t sell it as a part.
Service purchases it in bulk, I can sell some to you at $31.62 per Ltr if you provide the container."

That is a pain in the butt that we can not purchase any oil off the shelf and then the dealer wants to screw me by charging $31 per litre. I did find a Nulon product that was design specifically for diesel's with DPF.

I will email the dealer and ask if this is suitable.

I email Nulon about their oil which can be used with Audi, Volvo etc with DPF and their response is below

"Thanks for your enquiry about Nulon oils.

Unfortunately, we are unable to supply a C1 oil for this vehicle that is suitable for the DPF at this time."

Looks like we are stuck getting oil from the dealer Sad

So if this is in essence a Ford engine, would they not also have a similar DPF? And would they use a different oil than JLR? Rolling Eyes

Hi There Biker. FYI the diesel engines that are in all the Evoques are made by Peugeot and the Petrol Engines are made by Ford. So maybe you cacn get some cheaper oil through a Peugeot Dealer??
