TIRES

My 2013 RR Evoque just turned 18,000 miles and the dealer is stating I need new tires. Continental 235/55 R19 1015 V M+S Cross UHP Contact tires were the brand on this vehicle when I purchased it new. Has anyone experienced a similar situation? If yes, what brand all weather tire did you use to replace. The Continental tires longevity on this vehicle is unacceptable. Thx.

RE: TIRES

I had these Continentals on an FL2 - LR2 in the USA? anyway, only got 16500 miles out of them. Replaced with Goodyear, Wrangler I think, a little more road noise but they did not aquaplane like the Continentals. Sold the car at 29000 with negligable wear after 12500 miles. Most UK Evoques are on Pirelli Scorpian M&S, they work well and many have reported in excess of 30000 miles.

Evoque Dynamic SD4 Lux Auto Total Rubbish, worst car I have owned - GONE AT LAST!

RE: TIRES

Mine has the 19" Continental ones. I did 42.000km with the front set. At the moment I'm at 70.000km and the original set at the back still has 5mm left. I do check regularly if the tension is still ok. What have you done to use them as quickly?

Just replaced the fronts on my 2013 Dynamic, also at 18000 miles. They were Continentals too (245/45R20), rears are ok for a while yet though. Tyre fitter thought the mileage was ok, and explained uneven wear rate possibly due to more drive directed to the front end as I am urban.
I fitted a pair of Delinte D8s , too soon to see wear obviously but the car does seem more quiet than before.

RE: TIRES

i have my original Continentals Cross contacts on still, and have just completed 60,000 kms. They look to have about anther 10,000 kms left in them too. Periodic rotation and consistantly correct tyre pressure are essential. These have been great tyres in my opinion in every aspect, and will buy again.

RE: TIRES

Since delivered new in Feb 2012,and after completing an incredible 67000 kms on my original tires (Continental CrossContacts), i have ordered a new set of the same to be fitted on Tuesday.

Here is a picture of my Continentals having done 67000kms, and by the look of them, could still get over 70000kms before hitting the wear indicators properly.
They have all worn evenly, and performed superbly in every way....never aquaplaned, always steered sharp, ride beautifully, and are quiet tires too. They are also tough, as i've had a number of new homes being built around me in these last four years, and never once have they punctured.
These tires aren't cheap, but boy they've been good.[Image: IMG_1320_zpsh8tqpocf.jpg]

RE: TIRES

Yeah i know some don't like em, but in my experience with them, they've given me no reason other then to say they've been brilliant!!! And the pic shows them at 67000k.....not bad,not bad at all.

In addition, because of the squarish shape, they look to have by far the widest tread width in comparison with other brand tires of the same width, giving the Evoque a slightly better solid stance.

+1 I've had Conti's on my last 3 cars. On each one of them I've had to replace them around 20,000km! On the MB the rears would cut loose - they'd grip, grip, grip then without warning you'd be looking at your rear as it swung around in front of you. Absolute rubbish and dangerous. I refuse to have them on any new car I buy now. The dealer has to change them if they want a sale. Fortunately the Evoque came with Pirelli shoes.
