Squealing from front wheels at low speed

Hi. I'm getting a high pitch squealing noise coming from the front wheels at low speeds. About 30 and under. Could this be the brakes needing a change or something else. When I actually apply the brakes the noise disappears

RE: Squealing from front wheels at low speed

Given the noise changes when you press the brakes, it's almost certainly in need of brake attention, there are many reasons but likely it needs pads, and anyone going that far on an investigation would probably put new pads in anyway, and maybe discs depending on how long you've let it squeal for which could be scoring the discs. You didn't mention your mileage?

its the ONLY car ive ever had that had squealing from brakes and needed replacements within 2 years. Wondered if electric rear brake was implicated in part of it (although not front brakes obviously)
