Content Issue:
Dealers have identified that integrated carpet mat hooks are present at the front and rear on all vehicles built from 13MY onwards even if carpet mats are not delivered with the vehicles. In some instances, dealers have attempted to fit previous 12MY level Accessory carpet mats or even remove the hooks from the carpets.
Cause:
At 13 MY for both L538 and L359/LR2, carpet mat hooks were made integral to the carpet. The pitch between the hooks was also changed. For some markets, however, carpet mats are an optional fit only and not 100% for all units.
Action:
Should a dealer receive a 13MY L538 (from VIN H706084) or L359/LR2 unit (from VIN H321215) without carpet mats, this may be an intended condition where the mats have not been ordered as an option.
Under no circumstances should previous (12MY) level mats attempt to be fitted nor should any attempt be made to remove the hooks in the carpet.

That checks out - I posted on here last week that the car mats I'd ordered from carmats4u.com didn't seem to be a good fit with the rear hooks, this would explain it. Carmats4u have offered to send me out some new rear mats with the mounting holes located to my measurements and have asked me to send some photos of them fitted, presumably so if they're ok they can update their own templates for any new orders from MY13 owners.

Something else to add to the pre-pickup checklist.
