Running I phone through 8" screen

You need one of these and a mirroring I phone adaptor, a long av lead and a fakra to av lead.
Was easy, just pop dash off fit the the fakra in the left hand socket as you look down at the back of the screen.
Replace it all and wire up the HDMI lead to the av converter( it plugs into one of the USB ports under the arm rest.)
Then press and hold the valet button for approx 20 secs, secret menu then appears and select video and you will have whatever is on your phone on your screen.

Very interesting.
So I have a dynamic with SATNAV, rear camera and standard Meridian setup and an Iphone 5
Please could you post a link (s) to the kit needed to do this.
I already have the Iphone lightning to USB cable of course.
You mention 2 items but not quite sure what each one does.
I think the Fakra lead converts HDMI to a connector that fits the head unit.
Does the AV adapter give you HDMI out of the iPhone? If so why is the USB connector involved?
Any help greaty appreciated would love to be able to view emails etc on screen (shame the head unit touch screen wouldn't work!).
On that subject why don't all car makers just give you a touchscreen into which you can plug a smartphone and use all its functions instead of crappy vehicle specific satnav and audio?

5 door Dynamic SD4, Orkney Grey, 20" shadow alloys, contast and pano roof, tints and 40 plus grand lighter!

How do you get to the back of the head unit of the screen to find that connector?

RE: Running I phone through 8" screen

Can you post a list of all items needed?

And where exactly you got then from.?

It would be much easier for other users also.

Is Bluetooth the only way for sound? Could not hard wire it?
