Reverse camera

Maybe it would change with frequency of use.
What's the view of regular users, is it worth the expense?
When is it most beneficial, parking? garage? Would you have it fitted again if you had the choice?

If you're talking about the rear view camera that comes on automatically and ONLY when in reverse (not the surround camera's):

I have it on mine. I got it as part of a package so I didn't specifically ask for it but I'm very glad I have it and I would absolutely take it again if I would order a new Evoque today.

To me it is very beneficial for parking, not only to see the car/object behind but also to avoid hitting curbs. For driving backwards, like leaving the driveway. The rearward view is kind of limited in the Evoque and a child or animal behind the car is almost impossible to see.

It is possible to drive/park without the rear view camera but I think this option is money well spent.

Dynamic SD4 Auto 5dr, Tech Pack, Santorini Black, Verve Interior with Ebony headlining, Panoramic Roof, Privacy Glass, Solar Attenuating Glass, Style 7 Alloys, Adaptive Dynamics.

Most beneficial when going backwards! Laughing

Seriously though I use the mirrors manouvering the car into a space but the camera to bring the car up close and avoid any low wall or object and also to know how much room needed to open the tailgate!

Rear view camera is one of those things where once you've had one, you never want to be without one. The car I bought as a runaround whilst I was waiting for my Evoque didn't have one and I really missed it.

Reverse camera

I would say yes to it but as it came with a package, I didn't have to choose as a single cost item... Would I now? Yes.

I took it as an optional extra, and glad I did. I have a coupe and the view via rear window isn't great and the camera is a real help. So much so that when I drive my wifes car and put in reverse I immediately look at the dash
to see the picture, which of course she doesn't have ! So yes definitely for me.

I have rear view cameras on my BMW & Evoque and wouldn't be without them. The quality is not so important as its not a porn movie it's just the rear view but its a fantastic option.

Evoque Prestige SD4, Barolo Black contrast white roof, Ambiance Upholstery with Figured Macassar wood insert, Privecy glass, Lux Pack, 20" Style 6 Alloys, Spare Wheel. Ordered 10th March estimated completion date 6th July.

RE: Reverse camera

Hey all, For those of you who are interest, LR has officially made a statement regarding how the rear camera should look. It is correct that it looks different between the surround cam system and those with just a reverse cam. Please see the Special Service Notice from LR (attached). It shows the correct display for each type of camera.

RE: Reverse camera

Thanks for that, interesting they are different. I assume "high line" is the surround camera option.

Evoque was great, now in an RRS SVR
