Car is currently around the 1760 miles since new so will report when we get back home what the overall figure mpg wise is. To be honest if it’s any more than 31 mpg in the previous car then it’s a plus for me, never the substantially increased ride comfort... i should be pleased regardless.

It finished as 530 odd miles in total. Have to say in extremely comfortable conditions compared to my previous chariots so really happy with that. The sat nav proved great avoiding heavy traffic on the M1 advising us to move off and back on missing a junction with static.

Overall mpg for the trip was 36.8, so not bad with speeds between 70-85mph depended on road conditions.

Quite pleased actually to be honest, I’m positive the mpg figure will improve further the more mileage goes on the car.

Did i expect more..? if it gets to 38-40mpg for this kind of run then yes, but I’m not kidding myself so not setting my expectations any higher than that.

Also noticed as others have expressed and i've always thought to be right; i did a large chunk on cruise control and the rest off it. I suffered a few mpg with cruise on, no suprises i guess.

Car is SD4 Auto.

RE: Real world mpg

Just filled up for third time - 316 miles took 7.53gallons to fill - that = 41.90mpg. I'm happy with that and more or less equals my previous A5 2.0TDI manual Cabrio.

About 250 of those miles were motorway on the M40 at a steady 70 (points on licence so I have to be angelic). The curious thing is that the trip computer fuel consumption calculation is wrong - it says 36-37 at best. I realise that it will be calculated from a table using engine management data and not something precise like fuel flow but LR certainly aren't doing themselves any favours.

Mine works the other way generally (See my comparison graph on My RR thread) but normally it says the mpg is a tad better than the real (but not always).

Real world mpg

Was up in hull yesterday and mpg said 51.1 on way up. So when I left I filled up and drove back down doing 70-75 with air con all the way. Pulled straight into my local garage down near Nottingham and filled back to brim and the maths say it's doing 45 mpg. Happy with that. :0) SD4.

RE: Real world mpg

10,000 miles clocked up today...average of 29.9mpg in my 2.2 SD4...always drive in Sport mode (which on balance has made pretty much no difference to economy but a massive difference to driving experience, throttle response and importantly, gear changes) and reasonably heavy on the throttle...so pretty happy with the economy despite previously being a little bit grumpy about it.

Is that what the Trip computer is showing you Ed209 - or have you calculated it manually?
