Predicted depreciation 2y-3y?

Just wondering what people expect depreciation to be like on Evoques?

My SD4 Dynamic Auto was £40k new in Jan '12; I'm being offered £31k as trade in with est. 30k miles in March '14 against a new similar model.

So 9k loss over 2 years and 30000 miles.

Any thoughts about what's likely to happen to values over the next 2-3-4-5 years if I keep the "old" vehicle? Big drop? or smaller drops per year?

Jan '12 Dynamic SD4 Auto, 19" General Grabber AT, a few options, off to Kenya soon.

I would anticipate smaller drops, especially if there are supply problems with 2014 cars.

Now that the novelty value has gone and plenty have been and will be produced I reckon they will follow the normal depreciation pattern albeit no quite so severe as some models. So after three years around 35% depreciation and four years 45/50%. A good check might be to look at the final purchase price on leasing deals.

One thing I've come to realise is that the age of the car is what matters, not mileage providing it's not too high. Mine is lowish mileage - 16k by its second birthday - and that's not helping at all in the p/ex stakes. So I'm busy enjoying putting more miles on it knowing it will not affect the value too much. Really, I should see privately but I do hate that process!

Evoque was great, now in an RRS SVR

Try other traders not just main dealers. I sold a pure 13 months old with 13 k for 30k which cost 33k.

RE: Predicted depreciation 2y-3y?

I've been looking at trading in recently for a new Dynamic and top whack trade in for my Dynamic (May 2012, 22,000 miles, 2 services) is £28K (two independent dealers quoted me this). With dealers now quoting Oct/Nov delivery that trade in value will be lower by the time a new car arrives.

Sadly, I my have to part company with LR when I decide to change the car as I'm no longer doing the mileage to warrant a diesel and the petrol Evoque is silly money. I still enjoy my Evoque so haven't acted on any whim to change the car...yet!

SD4 Dynamic, 5 door, manual, Firenze Red with Fuji roof, adaptive headlights, auto dimming mirror, spare wheel Very Happy
