Positioning of Saneff Liber-t TAG

Hi All, does anybody have any experience of using a Saneff Liber-t Peage TAG when using the toll autoroutes in France. It says to position in the mottled area of glass behind the rear view mirror. Most of this area is taken up by built in equipment but there is an area either side of mirror which might be suitable. I'm off to tour Italy via France in 3 weeks and am considering purchasing a TAG, but in order for it work it has to be positioned correctly. Any advice would be graciously received.

We have had one of these for many years now. The newer ones are smaller. We have never fixed it to the windscreen, we just hold it up when passing the beacon.
