New engines

Jaguar have announced 3 new engines in the XE, XF and F Pace - 2 petrols of 197bhp and 247bhp and a 237bhp diesel.

How long before they feature in Land Rovers cars? I'm sure LR will want to start using their own Ingenium petrol engines rather than the Ford sourced petrol engine in the Evoque and add a petrol option to the Discovery Sport particularly given the on going and increasing negative press diesel engines are getting at the moment. Never the less a 237bhp diesel Evoque with 500Nm of torque would be an interesting proposition if it could be mounted East/West rather than North/South as in the Jaguars.

Arrived - SD4 Prestige, 5 door, manual in Orkney Grey with Element interior. Style 4 wheels, spare wheel & auto-dimming rear view mirror.
Joining MX-5 2.0i convertible.

RE: New engines

Disco5 already has the updated Ingenium 4 cylinder that puts out 240HP and 500NM torque it also has Si6 Ingenium Petrol with 340bhp and 450NM so may be Jag is borrowing from LR but making more of it! IIRC the Si6 is an in line 6 not a V6

A Pangea Green New Defender 110 First Edition is now sitting on my drive alongside British Racing Green Electric Mini Cooper SE Level 3. After 21 years in my hands my TDI300 90 was handed on to the next custodian on 15 July 2022.

RE: New engines

The Disco 5 Si6 produces exactly the same power/torque as the 3 litre supercharged petrol available in the RRS. The write ups on that last August suggested it was a V6. Are you sure it is the new Ingenium petrol inline 6?

Agreed, but the 2 new petrols are 4 cylinder not 6 so should fit in the Evoque. I was under the impression that there isn't enough space in the engine bay of the Evoque for a 6 cylinder engine of any configuration.
Looking forward to the Disco5's 4 cylinder diesel Ingenium engine being fitted in the Evoque.

RE: New engines

At launch the Si6 is the 3.0ltr V6 S/C petrol but the new Ingenium 6 will be launched this year in F-Pace then D5
