RE: Hill Descent Control

I was off roading last weekend with land rover in mine. I found that hdc wouldn't go less then 5mph and I had to use the brakes to go slower Sad
But mine is a manual.

RE: Hill Descent Control

Having just been on the Experience day (in a Vogue) and in the FullFat the HDC will work down to 1kph, in the Evoque and Freelander it only works down to 5kph because you don't have the low ratio gears. Doesn't matter if Auto or Manual. The difference with the Manual is when setting off you need to get it into gear and then set off and release all pedals and then at 5kph the HDC will keep your speed constant by braking 1 wheel in turn as needed. Avoid using the brakes as you'll get control again from the HDC and if you brake (which brakes all 4 wheels) going down a slippery slope you may put it into skid. The other thing the FullFats will do is adjust the Descent speed from your braking, using the speed you release the brakes at to set the speed, the Evoque does not do this and you set the speed only through the cruise buttons (which you can also do on the FullFat)

Hill Descent Control

I noticed the other day that the HDC can be set at 30mph, handy for some of those annoying speed cameras that are on a hill. I have used this a few times now in a local village.

Interesting use as long as it's not over using your brakes to keep it at 30mph! But yes 5-30mph is the range.
